  K-9 Facilities

McKienzie Farm offers K-9 Vacation Boarding for dogs of all breeds and sizes.

K-9 Housing (pictures coming soon)

Option #1:  House Dog

The house dog boarder will enjoy many of the same luxuries that he/she receives at home.  Well behaved house guests have free access to a bedroom, the kitchen (but not the food in it), and the place where they will likely spend most of their time... the family room.   In the family room, with their parents' permission, they are welcome to sit on the couch or floor to enjoy their favorite television shows. (ok, they may have to watch my shows too!).

Option #2: Dog house and Play yard

The dog house and play yard option is the best choice for dogs who are used to living in a kennel, fenced yard or run.  Constructed of 9 gauge chain link and electric fence (to prevent digging) the kennels are highly secure. Each yard contains an 8ft x 12 ft dog house and a 20ft x 20ft play yard complete with puppy pool. Owners are welcome to bring their dog's favorite toys and blankets to make them feel more at home.

Option #3: Crated Critters

The Crated Critter route is the best option for dogs who are crate trained and used to being in a crate while their parents' are away (either at work or play).  Dogs who have been properly crate trained feel the most relaxed and secure  when safely in a crate.   If this is your pet's first time away from home or the family,  this is the best and safest option for the first experience.  Each crated dog is in a large enough crate to stand up, lay down, and stretch out comfortably. They are taken on 3-4 walks per day so get plenty of TLC and one on one attention each day.  Owners may bring their dog's favorite blanket/pillow and toys to make them feel even more at home.  The option to have an indoor or outdoor crate is up to the owner.  Many dogs enjoy the view from the front porch while others feel more secure inside.

The Medical Care Office

Our in-home medical office is equipped with many routine and emergency care items to insure that all K-9s receive proper care and/or "first responder" care in the event of emergency.  Emergency cases will be stabilized and transported to a veterinarian promptly.   Kathy McKienzie has been trained in K-9 Emergency medicine through the Canine Down Program for working dog handlers.
