Riding Instruction

We teach and train using Classical Dressage methods, theories and training scales.

Currently we are only offering lessons to those students with their own horses. Whether you are an active Dressage rider, New horse owner, Converting to Dressage from another discipline, or getting back into the sport after a break we can help you.

For the new horse owner, convert, and nervous adult rider: Years of experience with various breeds, all disciplines, and riders of all temperaments allows instructor Kathy McKienzie to understand and be able to work with all situations, horses, and rider types. Lessons are tailored to the individual, their horse and their personal needs as a riding team.

For the active Dressage Rider: Whether you train for show or for the sheer joy of the journey, we will help you mold yourself and horse into the picture of proper Dressage. We all have heard it many times that "it's all in the basics." All good Dressage starts with proper foundation training and proper rider skills. If you are finding that you are having trouble with executing certain movements or just can't quite get that additional impulsion/collection/etc, we will help you find the holes in your training. We will then establish a training plan to help you make that step to the next level and beyond. To prepare for upcoming shows, we can help you and your horse master the USDF Dressage tests at your competition level. Show coaching is also available.

Lesson Rates:

Riding Lessons last from 30 minutes -1 hour based on rider/horse fitness and individual ride training needs.

Lessons are $35 for Haul-ins, and $35 plus a trip charge for off-property instruction.

We offer multi-lesson discounts for riders who pre-pay for a minimum of 4 lessons on the 1st of each month. Pre-paid lessons are $30.
