URBAN SEARCH AND RESCUE I was a member of Florida State Task Force 4 Urban Search and Rescue (USAR) team as a Canine Search Specialist. Due to time contraints and other committments, I am no longer an active member. I plan to rejoin the team in the future.
Diego and I deployed to Hurricane Katrina on 8/29/05 with USAR State Task Force 4 for a 7 day deployment. Click here ( Hurricane Katrina ) for pictures provided courtesy of team mates who happened to snap a few shots of us during the deployment. Our deployments include Hurricanes Frances, Jean, and Katrina. (pictures from training, not deployment)
Magnum, was my second USAR K-9. Due to time restraints and the need of another USAR Task Force for trained K-9s, I placed Magnum in a wonderful home with an Oklahoma Task Force 1 K-9 Handler. Sadly, he was killed in a tragic accident in mid-2008. He will be forever missed.
